Monaghan County Council Update on Service Provision

In line with Government guidelines, regarding the end of Level 5 restrictions, Monaghan County Council wish to advise that from Tuesday 1st December Monaghan County Council Motor Tax, Library, Museum and Arts services will re-open to the public.

Motor Tax: Our Motor Tax service is open to the public and vehicles can be taxed during open hours 9.30 am – 12.30 pm.  Other options for taxing your vehicle include ‘Drop off forms’ for Motor Tax renewal, first time taxing, taxing of Goods Vehicles, Trailers  which may be left in Motor Tax post box or posted to Monaghan Motor Tax, Market Street, Monaghan or online at motortax.ie  – except first time commercial/goods vehicles and trailers.

Libraries: From today our three larger branch libraries, Monaghan, Carrickmacross and Clones are open for browsing.

Opening hours are;

Monday 11am to 1pm, 2pm to 5pm & 6pm to 8pm

Tuesday 11am to 1pm & 2pm to 5pm

Wednesday 11am to 1pm & 2pm to 5pm

Thursday 11am to 1pm & 2pm to 5pm

Friday 11am to 1pm & 2pm to 5pm

 

All Libraries, including Ballybay and Castleblayney branches that remain closed, will continue to offer a Home Delivery Option as well as a ‘Contact & Collect’ option for those who prefer to limit their social contacts or feel uneasy visiting the library buildings. You can avail of this service by contacting your local branch.

Museum: Our Museum will be open to the public from Monday 7th December and visitors are welcome Monday to Friday between the hours of 12 and 4pm.

 

Arts: The Markethouse will be open to the public for the Christmas Craft Fair from the 5th December during the hours of 11am and 6pm.  The Markethouse office will be open Monday – Friday from 9am until 1pm.

 

Members of the public are asked to co-operate with the queuing systems in operation and to wear a face covering at all times.
