Temporary Closing Of Roads – Section of the R186 within Tydavnet Village between Cnoc na Greine and St. Dympna’s Church Car-park

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:               Sunday 30th April 2023 @ 5pm to Monday 1st May 2023 @ 12.30am

To Facilitate:                     Open air festival by Tydavnet Community Centre Committee

Road Closed:                     Section of the R186 within Tydavnet Village between Cnoc na Greine and St. Dympna’s Church Car-park

 

Diversion Routes:

Northbound traffic will be diverted via the L1020 (Scotstown Road), turning right at “McNallys Cross/Brennans Cross” and proceeding to “Courtneys Cross” (beside Barratitoppy old schoolhouse) and then turning right onto the L100 (Knockatallon Road) and proceeding onwards back onto the R186 Tydavnet Road at “American Cross/Killylough”.

Southbound traffic will be diverted via the L1171 (Emyvale Road) turning right at Cloghnart on to the N2 to Monaghan town.

Alternative routes will be signposted in order to direct the traffic.  Emergency vehicles will be catered for at all times.

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above mentioned roads with the Roads Department, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Thursday 13th April 2023.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following roads in the Municipal District of Monaghan:

To Facilitate:      Monaghan Street Food Festival

 

Roads Closed:

  • LS5515 – Lower Mill Street between North Road and Church Square
  • R867 – From Market Street to the Diamond (including Church Square), Monaghan Town

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic coming from the North via Glaslough Street, wishing to access the Clones Road (N54), or the Cootehill Road (R188), or the Ballybay Road (R162), may do so via Dublin Street, Macartan Road

Traffic coming from the South, via Dawson Street, wishing to access Dublin Street, may do so via North Road (N54)

Taxi Rank outside of Courthouse to be temporarily relocated to the North Road alongside the DV8 premises.

Local and emergency services access will be catered for at all times.

Temporary Closing of Roads – LT-62013 for its full length from its junction with the LS6210 & LT62013

Monaghan County Council gives notice to extend the following road closure in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date:                     From 23rd March 2023 to 23rd June 2023 (24 hr closure)

To Facilitate:     Windfarm Construction works 

Roads Closed:    LT-62013 for its full length from its junction with the LS6210 & LT62013

Diversion Route:

Traffic wishing to travel from the R-189 to the L-6201 shall be diverted from the junction of the L-6210/L-62013 in the Townland of Cornawall by remaining on the L-6210, then turning left on to the L-6201.

Traffic wishing to travel from the Townland of Drumgramph to the R-189 in the Townland of Doohat shall be diverted onto the L-6201, then turning left onto the L-2232, then turning left onto the L-2290 and continuing to the R-189.

Roads Closed:                  L-3002 Derrygoony to Money road in the Townland of Derrygoony

Division Route:

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-3002 in the direction of Senator Billy Fox Memorial Park will be diverted by turning left onto the L-7030 at the crossroads of the L-3001/L-3002/L-7020/L-7030, then turning right onto the L-7040, then continuing to the L-3002/L-8000 junction.

 

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-3002 in the direction of the Townland of Money will be diverted by turning right onto the L-7040, then turning left onto the L-7030, then continuing to the L-3001/L-3002/L-7020/L-7030 crossroads.

All Detours will be signposted to direct the traffic. (Local Access only, no through road at the Bridge Works).

Temporary Closing Of Roads – St. Patrick’s Day – Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:             Friday 17th March 2023

Times:                               2pm to 6pm

To Facilitate:                   St Patrick’s Day Parade

Road Closed:

  • R927-3, from Castle Road to Castleblaney Road
  • R178-6, from Dundalk Road roundabout to Main Street via Farney Street
  • R179-6, from Junction with Main St to LS8510 (Rockdaniel Road) junction

Diversion Routes:

North Bound Traffic – Diverted at Castle Road south onto R927 towards N2 via Oriel Road. From the N2 interchange travel north, exist the N2 at Cloughvalley Lower towards R927-2 Castleblayney Road, Carrickmacross, detour ends at Inver College.

South Bound Traffic – Diverted onto LP4051 Ross Road towards the Shercock Road roundabout and back up Ross Road. From Ross Road then directed north onto R927-2 Castleblayney Road towards N2. From N2 interchange traffic directed south, exit N2 at Drummond Otra towards Dundalk Road roundabout. Continue along R927-4 Oriel Road towards Old Ardee Road, detour ends at Castle Road junction.
