Alternative Routes:   

Diversions through these local areas is not possible – Rally Organisers to manage local access where and when possible. Any branch roads leading onto the Roads mentioned above may also be blocked at the junctions for a distance of up to 300m to ensure public safety on the closed roads.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Temporary Closing Of Roads – Road Closed: LP-1413 (Plantation Road)

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure: Monday March 4th until Friday 15th March

 Times: 0000hrs to 2400hrs (24 hour Closure)      

To Facilitate: The construction of a new roundabout.

 Road Closed: LP-1413 (Plantation Road)

This road will be closed to the west at the Junction with the North Road (N54-8) and to the East at the Junction with Glaslough Street (N54-10)

 

Diversion Routes:

Westbound traffic will be diverted Via Glaslough Street (N54-10), turning right onto the Diamond (R867-1) then right onto North Road (N54-8)

Eastbound traffic will be diverted Via North Road (N54-8) then Right onto Glaslough Street (N54-10)

Buses/HGV’s travelling Southbound on N2 and Westbound on N12 intending to travel North on Plantation Road (LP-1413) towards Monaghan Bus Station to be diverted at Coolshannagh Roundabout towards Annahagh roundabout, then take 2nd exit towards Corlat Roundabout. At Corlat roundabout take 2nd exit onto Dublin Road (R937) then 1st exit at Old Cross Square onto Broad Road. Turn right at the junction of Broad Road and Dawson Street onto Dawson Street and Continue Straight onto North Road

Buses/HGV’s travelling Northbound on N2 towards Corlat Roundabout intending to travel North on Plantation Road (LP-1413) towards Monaghan Bus Station to be diverted at Corlat Roundabout onto Dublin Road (R937) then 1st exit at Old Cross Square onto Broad Road. Night Time Temporary Closing of Roads

Monaghan County Council intends to close the following road in the Municipal Districts of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney, Ballybay- Clones and Monaghan in County Monaghan.

 

Dates of Closure:            Sunday 24th March 2024 – Friday 5th April 2024

Road Closed:                    N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Moy Otra (Clontibret N2 Junction) to the townland of Tullyvin  (Castleblayney-N53 Roundabout). Closure will be implemented on one direction only at any point in time.

Times:                                Northbound 9pm – 6am

                                            Southbound 9pm – 6am

 

To Facilitate:                     Essential maintenance/renewal/safety measure works.

Diversion Routes:           Main Diversion via Old N2 (LP3444) at Clontibret Village through

Annayalla Village and Castleblayney Town, then accessing the N2 via the

N53 and vice versa. Diversions will be in place for the duration of the closure.

Every effort will be made to minimise delays.

 Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned roads with the Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan Tuesday 5th March 2024.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection to Road Closure”.

Diversions from Emyvale to Ballybay, Clones, Cootehill will be via the N2 bypass to the Dublin Road and N54 Macartan Road

Local access to the town centre and the Courthouse car park will be via Glaslough Street, Macartan Road and Castle Road.

Diversion Routes:

North Bound Traffic – Diverted at Castle Road south onto R927 towards N2 via Oriel Rd. From the N2 interchange travel north, exist the N2 at Cloughvalley Lower towards R927-2 Castleblaney Road, Carrickmacross, detour ends at Inver College.

South Bound Traffic – Diverted onto LP4051 Ross Rd towards the Shercock Rd roundabout and back up Ross Rd. From Ross Rd then directed north onto R927-2 Castleblayney Rd towards N2. From N2 interchange traffic directed south, exit N2 at Drummond Otra towards Dundalk Rd roundabout. Continue along R927-4 Oriel Rd towards Old Ardee Rd, detour ends at Castle Road junction.

Times: (i) 18:30hrs to 21:00hrs and (ii) 19:00hrs to 21:00hrs

To Facilitate: Saint Patrick’s Eve Parade 2024      

Roads Closed: (i) 18:30hrs to 21:00hrs.  

  1. R212 McCurtain Street between N54 and L2821 Ball Alley Street.
  2. R183 Analore Street between R212 McCurtain Street and L2820 Abbey Street.
  3. R868 Fermanagh Street between R183 98th Avenue and N54.
  4. N54 Cara Street between L2821 Ball Alley Street and R868 Fermanagh Street.
  5. N54 Monaghan Street between R868 Fermanagh Street and crossroads of N54 with R183 O’ Duffy Street and R183 98th Avenue.

 

Roads Closed: (ii) 19:00hrs to 21:00hrs.

  1. L2800 Lower Fermanagh Street, L2800 Church Hill and L2800 Millbrook Upper between R183 98th Avenue and junction of L2800 Millbrook Upper with L2100 Lacky Road.

 

Diversion Routes:

N54 Eastbound traffic will be diverted via U9143 Clonfad Road, A34 Clones Road, R183 Newtownbutler Road and R183 98th Avenue.

N54 Westbound traffic will be diverted via R183 O’ Duffy Street, R183 Analore Street, L2820 Abbey Street and L2821 Ball Alley Street.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
