Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:              Monday 6th May 2024 to Tuesday 4th June 2024

Times:                                24hr Closure – No Through road at the location of the bridge works                                              To Facilitate:                     Bridge Replacement Works 

Road Closed:                    LP-3002-0 Derrygoony to Money Road in the Townland of Derrygoony and Corvackan

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-3002 from the L-3001 in the direction of the townland of Derrygoony will be diverted by turning left on the L-7030, then turning right onto the L-7040.

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-3002 from the L-8000 in the direction of the townland of Drumod will be diverted by turning right on the L-7040, then turning left onto the L-7030.

All Detours will be signposted to direct the Traffic. There will be no through road at the bridge location.

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

 

Date of Closure:              Friday 17th May 2024

 

Times:                                6pm to 9pm

 

To Facilitate:                    Event to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Dublin Monaghan Bombings

 

Road Closed:                    R-867 – Church Square, Monaghan

LS-5515 – Lower Mill Street

 

Diversion Routes:

Westbound traffic approaching from Glaslough Street (N54-10) will be diverted at the Diamond (R-867-1) left onto Dublin Street (N-54-10) then take the 3rd exit at the roundabout at Old Cross Square onto Broad Road (N-54-10) then right at the junction of Broad Road and Market Street onto Market Street (N-54-8)

 

Eastbound traffic approaching from Dawson Street (N54-8) will be diverted straight ahead onto the North Road (N54-8) then right onto Glaslough Street (N-54-10) then continue straight onto Dublin Street (N54-9)

 

Eastbound traffic approaching from Mill Street (LS-5515) will be diverted left at the junction of the North Road (N54-8) onto the North Road (N54-8) then right onto Glaslough Street (N-54-10) then continue straight onto Dublin Street (N54-9)

 

Entrance and Exit to/from the Courthouse carpark from Church Square will be closed for the duration of the event and access will be via Broad Road (N-54-10) and Castle Road (LT-14121-0)

 

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

  • Divert at Killeevan cross towards Stone Bridge & Clones. Turn right onto the LP-2141 towards Stonebridge Presbyterian Church.Turn right onto the N54 towards Smithborough. Turn right Magherarny to end diversion

 

Southbound Traffic  (Killeevan bound)

  • Divert at Magherarny onto the N54 Clones Road. Turn left at Stonebridge Presbyterian Church and continue straight to Killeevan Cross

Emergency Service’s and Local Access will be maintained but delays should be expected.

Times: 8am Monday to 6pm Friday (local access only)   

To Facilitate: Uisce Éireann in the Installation of a New Manhole for a sewer connection to a new development.

Road Closed:  LS-5182 Coolshannagh Road (Ballyalbany Bridge)

Diversion Routes:

An alternative route will be signed with traffic being diverted via:

Traffic travelling north will be diverted on to the N54 national road, taking the first exit onto the N2 national road, then a left turn onto Cluain Ard (L16302)

Traffic travelling south will be diverted on to Cluain Ard (L16302), taking a right on to the N2 national road, and taking the third exit on to the N54 national road.

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:              Sunday 5th May 2024 @ 15.00 to Monday 6th May 2024 @ 00.30

To Facilitate:                     Open air festival by Tydavnet May Day Festival Committee

 Road Closed:                    Section of the R186 within Tydavnet Village between Cnoc na Greine and St. Dympna’s Church Car-park

Diversion Routes:

Northbound traffic will be diverted via the L1020 (Scotstown Road), turning right at “McNallys Cross/Brennans Cross” and proceeding to “Courtneys Cross” (beside Barratitoppy old schoolhouse) and then turning right onto the L1000 (Knockatallon Road) and proceeding onwards back onto the R186 Tydavnet Road at “American Cross/Killylough”.

Southbound traffic will be diverted via the L1171 (Emyvale Road) turning right at Cloghnart on to the N2 to Monaghan town.

Alternative routes will be signposted in order to direct the traffic.  Emergency vehicles will be catered for at all times.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Road Traffic Act 2004 Section 10 (1) of the Council’s intention to put in place the Special Speed Limits for Road Works on the road listed below, located within the Monaghan Municipal District. Night Time Temporary Closing of Roads – N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Kilcrow (N2 Clontibret Roundabout) to the townland of Tullyvin (N2 Tullyvin Roundabout).

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal Districts of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney, Ballybay- Clones and Monaghan in County Monaghan.

 

Dates of Closure:     Monday 8th April 2024 until Friday 21st June 2024

Road Closed:   N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Kilcrow (N2 Clontibret Roundabout) to the townland of Tullyvin (N2 Tullyvin   Roundabout).

Times:                                8pm – 6am 

To Facilitate:                     Pavement Investigations.

 

Diversion Routes:           South East Diversion- From the N2 Clontibret Roundabout, take the R184, then travel south east along the Old N2 (LP3444), through Annayalla Village and Castleblaney Town (R183 & R181), then access the N2 via the N53.

North West Diversion- From the N2 Tullyvin Roundabout, take the N53 into Castleblayney Town. Travel north west through Castleblayney taking the R181 & R183, then continue north west along the Old N2 (LP3444). Then access the N2 via the R184 at the N2 Clontibret Roundabout

 

Diversions will be in place for the duration of the closure.

Every effort will be made to minimise delays.

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-6141-0 from the L-2152 in the direction of the townland of Aghnaskeas will be diverted by remaining on the L-2152, then turning right onto the L-6140.

Diversions through these local areas is not possible – Rally Organisers to manage local access where and when possible. Any branch roads leading onto the Roads mentioned above may also be blocked at the junctions for a distance of up to 300m to ensure public safety on the closed roads.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
