Temporary Closing of Roads – To Facilitate: Road Improvement Works

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date:     Between Monday 26th June 2023 and Thursday 30th November 2023

(The Road may be closed for a maximum of 3 weeks within the Closure Period)

To Facilitate:      Road Improvement Works

Road Closed:

LT-10202 Tully Road: For a distance of 1,465m between its junction with the LP 1020 at Derrygassan Lower to the end of the road at Derryhallagh.

Diversion Routes:

Northbound traffic travelling from at Derrygassan Lower to Derryhallagh will be diverted onto the LS-5207 and continue West before turning right onto the N2 towards Emyvale and continue to the junction of the LP-1020.  Traffic will turn right and travel east along the LP-1020 Emyvale to Glaslough Road and arrive at Derryhallagh.

Southbound traffic travelling from Derryhallagh to Derrygassan Lower will be diverted left onto the LP-1020 Emyvale to Glaslough and proceed west to the junction with the N2.  Traffic will turn left and proceed along the N2 towards Monaghan to the junction with the LS-5207.  Traffic will turn left and continue east along the LS-5207 and arrive at Derrygassan Lower.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times). 

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the Roads Department, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Wednesday 21st June 2023.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:               Monday 19th June 2023 to Friday 30th June 2023

To Facilitate:                     Bridge Rehabilitation Works 

Road Closed:                     L-2340 in the townlands of Lisdarragh and Drumaghakeel

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-2340 in the direction of the R183 will be diverted by remaining on the R189 to Newbliss, then continuing on to the R183.

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-2340 in the direction of the R189 will be diverted by remaining on the R183 to Newbliss, then continuing on to the R189.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access will be catered for. No through road will be available at the bridge works).

Temporary Closing of Roads – R181 Lough Egish to Shercock Road: For a distance of 3km between its junction with the LP 4040 at Shantonagh to the end of the works at Corraharra.

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date:     Monday 26th June 2023 to Friday 7th July 2023

To Facilitate:      Road Improvement Works

Road Closed:

R181 Lough Egish to Shercock Road: For a distance of 3km between its junction with the LP 4040 at Shantonagh to the end of the works at Corraharra.

Diversion Routes:

Northbound traffic travelling from Shercock to Lough Egish will be diverted onto the R178 to Carrickmacross and then onto the R180 to Lough Egish.

Southbound traffic travelling from Lough Egish to Shercock onto the R180 to Carrickmacross and then onto the R178 to Shercock

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

 

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the Roads Department, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 13th June 2023.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

Public Consultation Event – BALLYBAY TO CASTLEBLAYNEY (B2C) GREENWAY – STUDY AREA CONSULTATION

A study area for the Ballybay to Castleblayney Greenway has now been developed.  Public Consultation events will be held over the coming weeks for communities along the proposed route.  Landowners, local communities, and the general public are invited to review the Study Area and to discuss with the project team.  The drop-in sessions will be held in:

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Times:                                  12.00am – 9.00pm

To Facilitate:                     Ballinode Street Festival

Road Closed:                    

LT-16102:  For a distance of 150m on the South side of Cappog Road in Ballinode Village and the other closer location at the North side of Maggie’s Bar on the LT-16102 in the Townland of Cappog.

Diversion Routes:

Southbound traffic wishing to proceed on the LT-16102 will be diverted South via the R186 at the townland of Clontoe, then traffic is to proceed South via the R186 and turn right at Connolly’s Bridge and proceed West on the LP-1610 to the townland of Quiglough.

Northbound traffic wishing to proceed on the LT-16102 will be diverted East via the LP-1610, at the townland of Mullaghmore West, traffic will proceed on the LP-1610 and then turn left on the R186 at Connolly’s Bridge and proceed North to the townland of Drumbarnet and turn left onto the LT-16102.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

To Facilitate:                     Bridge Rehabilitation Works

Road Closed:                     L-3211 in the townlands of Corderryduff, Corderrybane and Modesse.

Diversion Routes:

Eastbound Traffic in the direction of Castleblayney will be diverted by turning left onto the L-32122, then turning right onto the R183-14, then turning right onto the L-7220, then turning left and continuing along the L-3210.

Westbound Traffic in the direction of Doohamlet will be diverted by turning right onto the L-7200, then turning left onto the R183-14, then turning left onto the L-32122, then turning right and continuing on the L-3211.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access will be catered for. No through road will be available at the bridge works).

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure: Monday 5th June 2023 to Tuesday 13th June 2023 (24 hr closure)

To Facilitate:     Alterations to existing Vertical Alignment of Roadway and associated Surfacing works

Road Closed:     R188 Monaghan to Swans Cross Road in townland of Racane from 200m North of Junction with L24122 to 400m South of Junction with L24122

 

 Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to proceed northbound on the R188 at Swanns Cross may turn right in the townland of Dromore East at Swanns Cross onto the R183 and continue eastbound along the R183, turn left onto the R162 in Ballybay and continue northbound along the R162 then turn left at the junction of the R188 in the townland of Killygowan.

Traffic wishing to proceed southbound on the R188 at Killygowan may turn left onto the R162, continue southbound along the R162, then turn right onto the R183 in Ballybay, continue on the R183 then turn left onto the R188 in the townland of Dromore East at Swanns Cross

Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
