Temporary Closing Of Roads – Road Closed: LS-6141-0 in the Townland of Roosky and Killyfuddy

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:              Tuesday 2nd April 2024 to Friday 26th April 2024

Times:                                24hr Closure – No Through road at the location of the bridge works

To Facilitate:                     Bridge Replacement Works

 

Road Closed:                    LS-6141-0 in the Townland of Roosky and Killyfuddy

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-6141 from the L-6140 in the direction of the townlands of Drumcaw/Boughill will be diverted by remaining on the L-6140, then turning left onto the L-2152.

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-6141-0 from the L-2152 in the direction of the townland of Aghnaskeas will be diverted by remaining on the L-2152, then turning right onto the L-6140.

All Detours will be signposted to direct the Traffic. There will be no through road at the bridge location.

Any interested person may lodge an objection in writing to the closing of the above-mentioned roads with the A/Senior Engineer, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan, not later than Tuesday, 19th March 2024. Any objections must be clearly marked on the envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

Night Time Temporary Closing of Roads

Monaghan County Council intends to close the following road in the Municipal Districts of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney, Ballybay- Clones and Monaghan in County Monaghan. 

Dates of Closure:            Monday 8th April 2024 until Friday 21st June 2024                                      

Road Closed:                    N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Kilcrow (N2 Clontibret Roundabout) to the townland of Tullyvin (N2 Tullyvin   Roundabout).

Times:                                8pm – 6am 

To Facilitate:                     Pavement Investigations.

 

Every effort will be made to minimise delays.

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned roads with the Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 19th March 2024.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection to Road Closure”.

Alternative Routes:   

Diversions through these local areas is not possible – Rally Organisers to manage local access where and when possible. Any branch roads leading onto the Roads mentioned above may also be blocked at the junctions for a distance of up to 300m to ensure public safety on the closed roads.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Roads Closed:

  1. R180 Carrickmacross Road between junction with L31009 O’ Duffy Terrace and roundabout at junctions R162 Cootehill Road/R162 Lower Main Street.
  2. R162 Lower Main Street and R162 Main Street between roundabout at R180 Carrickmacross Road/R162 Cootehill Road and roundabout at R162 Saint Patrick’s Street/ R183 Castleblaney Road.
  3. R183 Castleblaney Road between roundabout R162 Main Street/R162 Saint Patrick’s Street and junction with L34034 Mart Road.                                      

Diversion Routes:

Eastbound traffic at R183 Hall Street will be diverted via R183 Clones Road, R188 Monaghan Road, R162 Glen Road, N54 Broad Road, R937 Old Cross Square, N2 Dublin Road and R183 Ballybay Road.

Eastbound and southbound traffic at R162 Saint Patrick’s Street will be diverted via R162 Monaghan Road, R184 to Clontibret, N2 Dublin Road and R183 Ballybay Road or R181 Lough Egish Road.

Traffic at R183 Castleblaney Road will be diverted via R183 Castleblaney Road and N2 north or N2 south.

Northbound traffic at R180 Carrickmacross Road will be diverted via R180 to Lough Egish, R181 Castleblaney Road and N2 north.

Westbound traffic at R180 Carrickmacross Road will be diverted via R180 to Lough Egish, R181 Shercock Road, R162 Cootehill Road, R192 Cootehill Road and R188 Monaghan Road.

Northbound, eastbound and southbound traffic at R162 Cootehill Road will be diverted via R162 Shercock Road, R181 Lough Egish Road, R181 Castleblaney Road and N2 north or N2 south.

Westbound traffic at R162 Cootehill Road will be diverted via R190 Cootehill Road, R188 Monaghan Road and R183 Clones Road.

Temporary Closing of Roads – LT-62013

Monaghan County Council gives notice to extend the following road closure in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date:                     From 23rd March 2024 to June 23rd 2024 (24 hr closure)

To Facilitate:     Windfarm Construction works

Roads Closed:   LT-62013 for its full length from its junction with the LS6210 & LT62013

Diversion Route:

Traffic wishing to travel from the R-189 to the L-6201 shall be diverted from the junction of the L-6210/L-62013 in the Townland of Cornawall by remaining on the L-6210, then turning left on to the L-6201.

Traffic wishing to travel from the Townland of Drumgramph to the R-189 in the Townland of Doohat shall be diverted onto the L-6201, then turning left onto the L-2232, then turning left onto the L-2290 and continuing to the R-189.

Night Time Temporary Closing of Roads – N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Moy Otra to the townland of Tullyvin

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal Districts of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney, Ballybay- Clones and Monaghan in County Monaghan.

Dates of Closure:            Sunday 24th March 2024 – Friday 5th April 2024

Road Closed:                     N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Moy Otra         (Clontibret N2 Junction) to the townland of Tullyvin (Castleblayney-N53 Roundabout). Closure will be implemented on one direction only at any point in time.

Times:                                  Northbound 9pm – 6am

                                               Southbound 9pm – 6am

To Facilitate:                      Essential maintenance/renewal/safety measure works.

Diversion Routes:            Main Diversion via Old N2 (LP3444) at Clontibret Village through

Annayalla Village and Castleblayney Town, then accessing the N2 via the

N53 and vice versa.

Diversions will be in place for the duration of the closure.

Every effort will be made to minimise delays.

Temporary Closing Of Roads – N54

Monaghan County Council intends to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay- Clones in County Monaghan.

Dates of Closure:            14/03/2024 to 15/03/2024                                           

Roads Closed:                 N54 in the Vicinity of the Ulster Canal Visitor’s Centre

Times:                               Evening/Nighttime Closure 6pm to 6am

To Facilitate:                   Over pumping of a manhole within the road to allow a Sewer connection to be completed in relation to the Ulster Canal Restoration Project, Clones.

Diversion Routes:

Diversions for N54 traffic travelling west will be diverted via R183, then via A34 into Newtownbutler in Northern Ireland and via B533 to diversion end at the B533/A3 Junction (Wattlebridge)

Diversion for N54 traffic travelling east will be diverted via B533 (Wattlebridge) into Newtownbutler in Northern Ireland, then via A34 and R183 with diversion end at the R183/N54 junction.

Local access will be provided and every effort will be made to minimise delays. Diversion route will be signposted.

  • R867 – Church Square/The Diamond, Monaghan – from Rossmore Monument to Church Square
  • LS5515 – Lower Mill Street

Diversion Routes:

Diversions from Emyvale to Ballybay, Clones, Cootehill will be via the N2 bypass to the Dublin Road and N54 Macartan Road

Local access to the town centre and the Courthouse car park will be via Glaslough Street, Macartan Road and Castle Road.

Road Closed:

R927-3, from Castle Road to Castleblaney Rd 

R178-6, from Dundalk Rd roundabout to Main Street via Farney Street

R179-6, from Junction with Main St to LS8510 (Rockdaniel Rd) junction  

Diversion Routes:

North Bound Traffic – Diverted at Castle Road south onto R927 towards N2 via Oriel Rd. From the N2 interchange travel north, exist the N2 at Cloughvalley Lower towards R927-2 Castleblaney Road, Carrickmacross, detour ends at Inver College.

South Bound Traffic – Diverted onto LP4051 Ross Rd towards the Shercock Rd roundabout and back up Ross Rd. From Ross Rd then directed north onto R927-2 Castleblayney Rd towards N2. From N2 interchange traffic directed south, exit N2 at Drummond Otra towards Dundalk Rd roundabout. Continue along R927-4 Oriel Rd towards Old Ardee Rd, detour ends at Castle Road junction.
