Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

 

Date of Closure:           Sunday 17th November 2024

 

Times:                           12:00 Noon to 8:00PM

 

To Facilitate:                 Turning on of the Christmas Lights in Monaghan Town

 

Road Closed:                 R-867 – Church Square, Monaghan (From Rossmore Monument to Church Square)

LS5515 – Lower Mill Street

 

Diversion Routes:

Westbound traffic approaching from Glaslough Street (N54-10) will be diverted at the Diamond (R-867-1) left onto Dublin Street (N-54-10) then take the 3rd exit at the roundabout at Old Cross Square onto Broad Road (N0-54-10) then right at the junction of Broad Road and Market Street onto Market Street (N-54-8)

 

Eastbound traffic approaching from Dawson Street (N54-8) will be diverted straight ahead onto Church Square and North Road, then right onto Plantation Road (LP-1413), then right onto Glaslough Street (N54-10) then continue straight ahead onto The Diamond.

 

Entrance to the Courthouse carpark will be via Broad Road (N-54-10) and Castle Road (LT-14121-0)

 

Existing exit from the courthouse carpark onto Church Square (R-867-1) will be maintained for the duration of the event.

 

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following roads in the Municipal District of Clones in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure: Monday 4th November 2024 to 15th of November 2024

 

Times: Full time

  1. L8201 in the Town land of Tullynamalra from Mary Duffy’s Shop to the junction of the L8201 and L7113

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic will be diverted via R181 to Lough Egish Cross, turning left on to the R180 to Crossroads at Brackley and then left on to the L4210 to Tossy Cross.

Under Section 93 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 as amended and the Road Traffic Signs Regulations 1997, No. S.I. 182 of 1997 article 17, Monaghan County Council hereby gives notice of applying a 7.5t Weight Restriction at the bridge identified as MN-L88201-B-000 in the Townlands of Cornacarrow, Losset and Nure More on the L-88201 road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney in County Monaghan.

Date of commencement of the proposed Weight Restriction

Low Cost Junction Tightening Castleblayney at Junction of L3210 Mile Hill Rd and R181 Shercock Rd Castleblayney Co Monaghan.

 

The proposed scheme will consist of:

  • Provision of kerbing, build outs,
  • Provision of pedestrian crossing on L3210 Mile hill Rd
  • Provision of additional traffic calming signage
  • Improvements to existing Drainage network where required.

Temporary Closing of Roads – N2 National Primary route Derry to Monaghan Road Closure

N2 National Primary route Derry to Monaghan Road Closure

Monaghan County Council gives notice to extend the following road closure of the N2 National Primary route (Derry to Monaghan) from its junction with L5161 (1.3km north of Silverhill Duck, Emyvale) to its junction with L1160 (1.3km south of Emyvale village).

This is to facilitate evening/night-time road pavement repairs from 7pm to 7am on each day of the closure, in the village of Emyvale from the entrance of Silverhill Duck commercial premises, on the northern side of Emyvale, to the Mountain Water Bridge, on the southern side of Emyvale.

Dates:        Friday 11th October from 7pm to Saturday 12th October at 7am.

                   Saturday 12th October from 7pm to Sunday 13th October at 7am.

                   Sunday 13th October from 7pm to Monday 14th October at 7am.

                  

Start and End Townlands affected are: Lenagh to Carrigans

National Route & HGV Route: All Traffic Including HGV’s  travelling from the North

 

Traffic travelling to Monaghan/Dublin

 

Traffic from Aughnacloy to continue on the A28 Armagh Road reaching the village of Caledon.  In Caledon traffic to make a right turn on Main street/A28 and continue to Armagh where it will make a left turn onto the A3, followed by a right turn onto Irish street/A3.  Traffic will continue on the A3 then right turn at the Monaghan road/A3.  Traffic to continue on the A3 via Middletown following onto the N12 in Co. Monaghan. Detour ends at the Coolshannagh roundabout, Monaghan.

 

National Route & HGV Route: All Traffic Including HGV’s  travelling from the South

 

Traffic travelling to Aughnacloy/Derry

 

At Coolshanagh Roundabout, Monaghan, traffic to take N12 Armagh Road and continue on to A3 to Middletown.  Continue on A3 towards Armagh.  Turn left on to Irish Street – A3.  Take left then right on to A28 Killylea Road.  Continue on A28 to Main Street Caledon.  Take left off Main Street Caledon on to A28 Derrycourtney Road.  Continue forward to Aughnacloy.  Diversion ends.

 

Diversion signage will be in place on the above diversion routes

Emergency services access will be catered for at all times on the local diversion routes
