Taking native flora as its inspiration, this mural celebrates the vibrant flowers and foliage found in the wetlands of Ballybay, Co. Monaghan.
Encouraging the local community to take ownership of the artwork and to connect to the natural world on their doorstep.
The mural illustrates an abstract landscape of plants that grow in harmony and thrive together, including the foxglove, eldertrom, marsh-marigold and more.
Maser hand-painted the artwork in layers, building the shapes and forms in stages. Similar to organic growth in the natural world.
Ballybay local Fearghal Duffy played an integral role in the selection of flora featured in Maser’s artwork.
His knowledge and research of the local habitat directly inspired the colourful mural we see here today.
This mural is dedicated to Fearghal Duffy.
