Temporary Closing of Road
Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney in County Monaghan:
Dates and Times: Tuesday 6th May 2025 to Friday 16th May 2025 (19.00hrs – 07.00hrs)
To Facilitate: Road Re-surfacing at Drummond Otra, Carrickmacross, County Monaghan.
Road Closed: R178-7 in the townland Drummond Otra, Carrickmacross,Co. Monaghan.
Diversion Route:
Northbound Traffic Wishing to Travel onto R178-7 Dundalk Road will be diverted off the N2 via LP4700 Killanny Junction. Follow this road for approx. 1Km and take right turn onto R178-7 Dundalk Road.
South Bound Traffic wishing to travel onto Oriel Road R927-4, Old Ardee Road R927-3 or Culloville Road R179 will be diverted off N2 via Carrickmacross North Junction R927 and take following directions:
Oriel Road R927-4: taking 1st exit off Castleblayney Road Roundabout, travelling Through Carrickmacross Main Street, taking left turn onto Riverside Road, LP4933 before taking left/right turn at end of Riverside Road onto Oriel Road R927-4.
Old Ardee Road R927-3: taking 1st exit off Castleblayney Road Roundabout travelling through Carrickmacross Main St, down Convent Avenue hill onto the Old Ardee Road R927-3.
Culloville Road R179: taking 1st exit off Castleblayney Road Roundabout and travelling through Carrickmacross Main St. In the centre of the town, take a left turn down O’Neill Street signposted Crossmaglen, and at the bottom of the street take the left turn onto the R179 signposted Crossmaglen.
All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
