Temporary Closing of Roads

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney in County Monaghan

Date:     Between Monday 9th June 2025 and Friday 25th July 2025

The Road may be closed for a maximum of 2 weeks within the Closure Period

To Facilitate:      Road Improvement Works

Road Closed: LP4400 at Drumgoose for a distance of 2300m between its junction with the N53 Castleblayney to Dundalk road and the LP3703 junction at Longfield.

Diversion Routes:

Northbound traffic will be diverted into Castleblayney via the N53. At the junction turn right onto the R938 as far as Main Street. At the traffic lights at Main Street turn right onto the R181 Keady and Newtownhamilton road. Follow this road for 1km and at the junction turn right onto the R182  Newtownhamilton road. Take the next right onto the LP3700 Crossmaglen road and drive to the LP4400 Drumgoose road.

Southbound traffic will be directed to travel along the LP3700 as far as the R182 Castleblayney road where traffic will be directed to turn left. At the next junction turn left onto the R181 Castleblayney road and drive to the traffic lights on Main street.  At the Traffic lights turn left onto the R938 and drive as far as the N53 Dundalk road junction where traffic will be directed to turn left for Dundalk. Drive as far as the LP4400 Drumgoose road.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
