Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay Clones in County Monaghan:
Date: Between Monday 30th June 2025 and Friday 25th July 2025
The Road may be closed for a maximum of 2 weeks within the Closure Period
To Facilitate: Road Improvement Works
Road Closed: R162 in Ballybay from the roundabout on the Castleblayney Road/Main Street junction for a distance of 1734m out the Monaghan Road.
Diversion Routes:
Northbound traffic will be diverted onto main street at the roundabout, then right onto the R183 Clones road as far as Swann’s Cross roundabout. At the roundabout, traffic will be directed to take the third exit for Monaghan and drive as far as the R162 Junction.
Southbound traffic travelling from Monaghan will be directed to stay on the R188 Cootehill Road as far as Swann’s Cross roundabout. At the roundabout traffic will be directed to take the first exit for Ballybay, then left onto Main Street in Ballybay as far as the R162 Junction.
All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
