In order to facilitate the Monaghan Street Food Festival, Monaghan County Council will close the following roads on Saturday 6th December 2025 from 8.00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Monaghan Town
LS5515 – Lower Mill Street between North Road and Church Square
R867 – From Market Street to the Diamond (including Church Square), Monaghan Town
Alternative Routes:
Traffic coming from the North via Glaslough Street, wishing to access the Clones Road
(N 54), or the Cootehill Road (R188), or the Ballybay Road (R162), will be diverted at the Diamond (R-867-1) left onto Dublin Street (N 54-10), then take the 3rd exit at the roundabout at Old Cross Square onto Broad Road (N-54-10)
Traffic coming from the South, via Dawson Street, wishing to access Dublin Street, will be diverted at Church Square, straight onto the North Road (N-54-8), then turn right onto Glaslough Street (N-54-10) and left onto Dublin Street at The Diamond.
Local and emergency services access will be catered for at all times.
