Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following roads in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:
Dates:- Saturday the 29th of November 2025 at 17:00 until 21:00pm
Sunday the 30th of November 2025 at 07:00am until 11:00am
To facilitate the switching on of the Christmas lights in Carrickmacross Town
Road Closed: R-927 – Main Street Carrickmacross from its junction with the Bridewell Lane (L-8934), to its junction with the Ross Road (L-4050).
Alternative carparking will be available, in close proximity to the Court House Car Park, at the following locations:
- Drummond Etra Car Park
- Chapel Lane Car Park
- Ivy Lane Car Park
Alternative Routes.
Traffic wishing to proceed onto the R-927 (Main Street) from the R927 (Castleblayney Road), will be diverted onto the L-4050 (Ross Road), first exit off the roundabout, onto the L-8931 (Drummond Etra), and then left onto the L-8934 (Bridewell Lane).
Traffic wishing to proceed onto the R-927 (Castleblayney Road), from R-927 (Main Street), will be diverted onto the R-178-5 (Parnell Street), take the second exit off the roundabout, onto the L-4050 (Ross Road).
