Temporary Closing Of Roads – To Facilitate: St Patrick’s Day Parade

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure: 17th March 2024

 Times: 2pm to 6pm

To Facilitate: St Patrick’s Day Parade

Road Closed:

R927-3, from Castle Road to Castleblaney Rd 

R178-6, from Dundalk Rd roundabout to Main Street via Farney Street

R179-6, from Junction with Main St to LS8510 (Rockdaniel Rd) junction   

 

Diversion Routes:

North Bound Traffic – Diverted at Castle Road south onto R927 towards N2 via Oriel Rd. From the N2 interchange travel north, exist the N2 at Cloughvalley Lower towards R927-2 Castleblaney Road, Carrickmacross, detour ends at Inver College.

South Bound Traffic – Diverted onto LP4051 Ross Rd towards the Shercock Rd roundabout and back up Ross Rd. From Ross Rd then directed north onto R927-2 Castleblayney Rd towards N2. From N2 interchange traffic directed south, exit N2 at Drummond Otra towards Dundalk Rd roundabout. Continue along R927-4 Oriel Rd towards Old Ardee Rd, detour ends at Castle Road junction.

 Any interested person may lodge an objection in writing to the closing of the above-mentioned roads with the A/Senior Engineer, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than 5th March 2024.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.
