Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay Clones in County Monaghan:
Date: Between Monday 18th August 2025 and Friday 26th September 2025
The Road may be closed for a maximum of 1 week within the Closure Period
To Facilitate: Road Improvement Works
Road Closed: R180 Lough Egish to Carrickmacross road for a distance of 850m in the townland of Laragh.
Diversion Routes:
Southbound Traffic will be diverted along the R181 at Lough Egish as far as Castleblayney, where traffic will be directed to take the N2 as far as Carrickmacross. Traffic should then take the R180 Ballybay junction off the N2 at Carrickmacross.
Northbound traffic will be directed to take Ross Carraig road at the R180 Ballybay Road Roundabout and at the next roundabout take the first exit for N2 Castleblayney. At the Tullyvin Roundabout in Castleblayney traffic should take the N2 Monaghan road and drive as far as the R181 Shercock Road/Lough Egish junction. Take this junction and drive to Lough Egish.
All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
