Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following roads in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:
Date:- Sunday the 21st of September 2025 at 16:00pm until 21:00 hours.
To Facilitate: Big Tom Street Party/Back to Castleblayney Music Weekend.
Roads Closed: R181-3 (Main Street/West Street) from its junction with R183-15 (Monaghan Road/R181-4 New Street) to its junction with the L-75065 (Market Square).
R938 (York Street) from its junction with R181-3 (Main Street) to its Junction with the L-75066 (Thomas Street).
Alternative Routes.
Traffic wishing to proceed onto R181-3 (Muckno Street) or R183-15 (Monaghan Road) from the R938 (York Street) will be diverted right on L-75066 (Thomas Street), turn left on to L-75065 (Henry Street), right onto R-181-3 (Muckno Street), followed by a left turn onto L-75064 (McGrath Road).
Traffic wishing to proceed onto R181-3 (Muckno Street) from the R181-4 (New Street) will be diverted left on to the R183-15 (Monaghan Road), followed by a right onto L-75064 (McGrath Road).
Traffic wishing to proceed onto R181-3 (Castleblayney Main Street) from the R181-3 (Muckno Street) will divert right onto the L-75064 (McGrath Road) and then proceed left at the R183-15 (Monaghan Road) and left onto R181-3 (Main Street).
All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
