Monaghan County Council will close the following road in the Municipal Districts of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney, Ballybay- Clones and Monaghan in County Monaghan.
Dates of Closure: Monday 19th October 2026 – Sunday 1st of November 2026
Road Closed: N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Lislanly (Lislanly N2 Roundabout) to the townland of Tullyvin (Castleblayney-N53 Roundabout). Closure will be implemented in both directions.
Times: Northbound & Southbound 9pm – 6am
To Facilitate: Essential maintenance/renewal/safety measure works.
Diversion Routes: Northbound Diversion via Old N2 (N53) at Tullyvin roundabout through
Castleblayney Town, then on to the R983, turning on to the R183 and accessing the N2 via the Ballybay road junction.
Southbound diversion exit N2 at Lislanly roundabout onto the L3410 and join the R183 into Castleblaney and the R983 to the Tullyvin roundabout and the N2.
Diversions will be in place for the duration of the closure.
Every effort will be made to minimise delays.
