The Artist Support scheme is Monaghan County Councils recognition that we have a responsibility to provide financial and other assistance to artists and those working in the arts, so that they can be supported in the making and presentation of their work.
Policy
‘Monaghan County Council’s investment of public money is an acknowledgment of the value to society of the work of Artists, as well as a mechanism to provide for citizens’ enjoyment of artistic work.’ MCC Arts Policy 2016-2020.
Action
Introduce an annual open call for applications by professional artist’s of all disciplines and those working in the arts to an Artist Support Scheme to support areas such as creation of art, professional development, performance/exhibition of work and residency opportunities. MCC Arts Policy.
