Public Consultation Now Open on Monaghan’s Draft Litter Management Plan 2026–2029
Monaghan County Council has, under Section 10 of the Litter Pollution Act 1997-2009, reviewed the Litter Management Plan for County Monaghan and has drafted a replacement Litter Management Plan for the period 2026-2029.
A summary of the proposed Draft Litter Management Plan for the period 2026–2029 is available free of charge from Monaghan County Council and may be obtained from the Environment Section, Carrickmacross Civic Offices, Riverside Road, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan A81 HY83, or by phoning 042 9661240. The Draft Litter Management Plan can also be downloaded here:

Any person or organisation wishing to make comment on the Draft Litter Management Plan 2026 – 2029, can do so on Monaghan County Council’s Consult Portal – https://consult.monaghancoco.ie/ before 4pm Friday 10th April 2026.
Alternatively, submissions can be made in writing to,
Administrative Officer, Environmental Services, Carrickmacross Civic Offices, Riverside Rd., Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan A81 HY83 before 4pm Friday 10th April 2026.
All submissions made to Monaghan County Council in relation to the replacement plan will be taken into consideration by the local authority before the plan is adopted.
