Monaghan County Council Brings the Future of Engineering to County Monaghan during Engineers Week 2018

Through our Libraries and Engineering Departments, we are delighted to be hosting a number of events and look forward to engaging with young people across the county

Free Screenings of ‘Dream Big’
A film that will transform how we think about engineering, from the Great Wall of China to the world’s tallest buildings, to underwater robots, solar cars and smart sustainable cities. ‘Dream Big’ celebrates the human ingenuity behind engineering marvels, big and small, and reveals the heart that drives engineers to create better lives for people around the world.
Screening will be followed by Q&A session with a Engineer.

Engineers Talks for Schools:
Over the week a number of Engineers will visit primary schools to chat with young children about their engineering career path.

Engineering a Bridge K’nex Challenge:
Fancy testing your Engineering Skills with our K’nex Bridge Building activity? Will you go for a Suspension, an Arch or a cantilever style? How will you decide?
Gareth Kelly from DKIT Engineering Department will be on hand to guide you through these feats of Engineering
