Autism Friendly Initiative @ Monaghan County Libraries

autismfriendlyMonaghan County Library Services aim to provide access to all members of our Community. However, we realise that the hustle and bustle of the modern library is not a comfortable environment for everybody, in fact it can be a little overwhelming for people with autism or sensory issues.

All of our Branch Libraries are now offering the opportunity to avail of a quiet, private visit. We can ensure bright lights are switched off and background noise is kept to a minimum.

People with sensory issues & Families that include a Child who has Autism are welcome to book a private visit before the Library opens to the Public. Visits must be booked in advance and times will be subject to individual Branch Library opening hours.
