Monaghan County Council hereby gives notice of Emergency Closure in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994 that it will close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney in County Monaghan:
Date & Time: Tuesday 22nd September 2026, 8am until 5pm.
To Facilitate: Public safety and the off-loading of pre-cast concrete structures to facilitate re-construction of a collapsed culvert.
Roads Closed: L-4623-0 in the Townland of Candlefort from a point 430m east of its junction with the L-4630 in Inniskeen village centre.
Alternative Routes:
Local diversions are in place. All detours will be signposted in order to direct the traffic.
Traffic wishing to proceed Southeast on L-4623-0 in the direction of Channonrock will be diverted by taking left turn onto L-8602 approx. .9km west of Inniskeen village centre. Travel Northbound for .9km and take right turn onto L-46301. At the end of this road take a right turn onto L-8640 and drive SE direction for 5km until meeting R-178 in the townland of Castlering.
Traffic wishing to proceed North bound on L-4623-0 in the direction of Inniskeen village will be diverted by travelling on R-178 and taking right turn onto L-8622-0 and travelling north onto L-4621-0 in the townland of Kednaminsha. Then take right turn onto L-4621-0 to travel into Inniskeen village.
