Monaghan County Council will close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:
Dates and Times: Between Monday 5th October 2026 and Friday 9th October 2026.
The Road may be closed for a maximum of 1 weeks within the Closure Period between the hours of 21.00 and 06.00.
To Facilitate: Road Improvement Works
Roads Closed: R162 Glen Road, Monaghan in front of Monaghan County Council Offices for a distance of 148m
Diversion Route:
North Bound Traffic will be diverted at Swanns Cross roundabout via the R183 to Newbliss and then the R189 to Monaghan.
South Bound Traffic will be diverted via the N54 in Monaghan Town as far as the R189 Newbliss Road junction and then onto the R183 Ballybay road in Newbliss as far as Swanns Cross roundabout.
Local traffic will be diverted via adjoining local roads. All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
