Monaghan County Council hereby gives notice, pursuant to Section 9 of the Road Traffic Act, as amended, that it proposes to make Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws (30km/h) in respect of the following roads in County Monaghan:
- Roads defined as an urban core in the towns of Monaghan, Carrickmacross, Castleblayney, Clones and Ballybay
- Roads adjacent Schools located in an Urban Speed Limit zone(50/60km/h)
- Housing estate roads and residential streets that are not currently assigned a 30 km/h speed limit
A copy of the draft Bye-Laws maps will be available for public inspection, during normal office hours from Thursday 17th September 2026 until Monday 19th October 2026 at the following locations:
- Monaghan County Council, Roads Section, Mtek II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan.
- Monaghan Municipal District, County Offices, The Glen, Monaghan.
- Carrickmacross/Castleblayney Municipal District Office, Civic Offices, Riverside Road, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan.
- Ballybay/Clones Municipal District Office, The Diamond, Clones, Co. Monaghan.
