N2 Monaghan Tirnaneill Realignment

From Coolkill East to Corracrin

Pursuant to the Local Government Planning and Development Regulations 2001 – 2006, Monaghan County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to carry out road improvement works on the N2 National Primary road from the Townland of Coolkill East to the Townland of Corracrin through the Townlands of Coolkill East, Enagh, Tirnaneill, Mullabrack, Legacurry, Drumcaw, Drumgeeny, Cloghnart, Lisboy, Knockronaghan and Corracrin in the County of Monaghan.

The proposed development will involve the demolition of a derelict church in the townland of Mullabrack, widening, easement, realignment, improvement and overlay of the N2 National Primary Road, road drainage, stream diversions, watercourse crossings and all ancillary works. The proposed typical road cross section is a single carriageway 8.3m wide road comprising 2 no. 0.5m wide hard strips, 2 no 3.65m driving lanes and 2 no. 3m wide verges.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development are available for inspection or purchase, at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making copies, during normal office hours (9.15am – 1.00pm and 2.00pm – 5.15pm), at the Offices of Monaghan County Council, Mtek II Building, Knockaconny, Armagh Road, Monaghan until Thursday 18th August 2011.
