Winter Support for Local Community Groups, Businesses, Schools, Churches and the General Public

Community Salt Bin Scheme

Monaghan County Council does not provide salt directly to the general public. In order to provide help and assistance to Local Community Groups, Schools and Churches and Businesses during the winter period, it operates a “Purchase a Salt Bin Scheme” which allows Local Community Groups and Businesses to prepare themselves for the winter period at a reasonable cost.

Please note as of the Winter Maintenance season 2023/24 Monaghan County Council will supply a bin and 1 fill of salt free of charge to schools/ community groups etc.

It is up to the community group/school/business to source their own salt after the first fill has been used.
