Monaghan County Council has issued a notice under Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 (as amended) proposing a traffic calming and Quiet Road scheme on the LT20001 Clontoe Road, between Ballinode and Scotstown, Co. Monaghan.
Purpose:
The scheme is intended to improve the safety and convenience of road users through traffic calming and road environment enhancements.
Key elements of the proposed scheme include:
- Resurfacing of the road, including red-coloured surfacing
- Installation of Quiet Road signage
- Additional traffic calming measures and signage
- Installation of speed cushions
- New road markings layout
- Construction of passing bays
- New footpaths at both ends of the road
- Erection of gates
- All associated site and ancillary works

- Monaghan MD Office, The Glen, Monaghan
- Inspection is available during office hours from Wednesday, 29 April 2026.
