Local and European Parliamentary Elections are taking place on Friday, 7th June 2024.
It is now your responsibility to ensure that you’re registered to vote.
If you are not registered to vote, please submit your application on or before the closing date:
Monday 20th May 2024
To be eligible to vote:
- You must be 18 years of age on or before 7th June 2024;
- You must be living full time at the address at which you wish to be registered;
- To be eligible to vote in the European Parliamentary Elections you must be
- an Irish citizen OR
- a citizen of another EU Member State (subject to completing EP1 form which guards against double voting across the EU – please contact us if you have not received your EP1 form in the post)

- Hard copy forms (ERF1) are available at Council Offices, The Glen, local libraries and Municipal District offices. Completed forms must be returned to: Register of Electors, Monaghan County Council, The Glen, Monaghan, Co. Monaghan, H18 YT50.
WON’T BE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE POLLING STATION ON POLLING DAY?
If your illness or disability or the circumstances of your occupation or study is preventing you from attending a polling station on polling day, you may be entitled to vote by post.
If you had an illness/disability postal vote for the Referendum in March 2024, there is no need to re-apply.
