Pop-Up Shop

Pop-Up Shop 2026

  • Do you have a deb’s dress taking up space at the bottom of your wardrobe?
  • Do you want to recoup some of the money you paid for a dress you wore only once?
  • Would you like the next generation of debutantes in County Monaghan feel like a princess on their special night?

If the answer is yes to all these questions, then you are in the right place!

Why not register your dress for sale with Monaghan County Councils Debs Dress Pop-Up Shop?

How does it work?

Monaghan County Council is holding a pop-up shop at the Gate Lodge, Lough Muckno Leisure Park, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th April 2026.

Please note that we are no longer taking registrations.  If you have already registered your dress, we will be in touch with you shortly with further information.

Members of the public will be invited to visit out pop-up shop and try on the dresses.

If they see one they like, they will contact you directly and negotiate a sale.

Why should I sell my debs dress?

Reusing or reselling your Debs dresses is a smart, sustainable, and community-minded choice.

  1. Environmental benefits:
Fast fashion and single-use outfits contribute to textile waste and pollution. By reusing or reselling your Debs dress, you help reduce waste, save resources, and lower the carbon footprint associated with producing new clothing.

  1. Financial savings:
Debs dresses can be expensive, and most are worn only once. Selling your dress allows you to recover some of the cost, while buyers can enjoy a beautiful gown at a more affordable price.

  1. Supporting the circular economy:
When you pass on your dress, you keep it in use for longer — a perfect example of the circular economy in action. It’s about extending the life of products and reducing the need for new materials.

  1. Sentimental value with purpose:
Instead of letting your dress gather dust, giving it a second life allows someone else to create their own special memories in it. It’s a meaningful way to share joy and style.

  1. Encouraging mindful fashion:
Reusing and reselling promote a culture of conscious consumption, where fashion is about creativity and sustainability rather than waste.

In short, reusing or reselling your Debs dress is good for your wallet, the planet, and your community — a small action with a big positive impact.

Terms & Conditions:

Monaghan County Council is providing you with the opportunity to display your dress and allow interested parties to try them on.  However, sale agreements are by private arrangement.

Warning: – All property is left at owner’s risk.  Monaghan Co. Council will not be responsible for lost or damaged property.

Please do not register dresses that are damaged or need to be cleaned.

Please remember price points, these are gently worn dresses, and most people will not want to spend the same money they would in a deb’s dress shop or for a new dress.

If you decide to withdraw your dress from the sale, can you please let us know as there may be someone else who would like the chance to sell their dress?
