Monaghan County Council gives notice of intention to close the following roads in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

To Facilitate:     Clones Halloween Day Festival

Roads Closed:

  • Fermanagh Street between N54 and 98 Avenue (R183)
  • Lower Fermanagh Street between Rosslea Road junction and 98 Avenue (R183)

Diversion Routes

Fermanagh Street, Clones:

Traffic wishing to travel on Fermanagh Street (R868) shall divert at the junction of Newtownbutler Road/Fermanagh Street/98 Avenue onto 98 Avenue(R183). Turn right at the traffic lights onto Monaghan Street(N54) and continuing to the end of the diversion at The Diamond, Clones.

Lower Fermanagh Street, Clones:

Northbound traffic wishing to travel on Lower Fermanagh Street (LP-2800) shall divert at the junction of Newtownbutler Road/Fermanagh Street/98 Avenue onto 98 Avenue(R183). Turn left at the traffic lights onto the N54 Monaghan Road. After 2.5km turn left on the LP-2120 (New Line) road. Travel to end of the road and turn left on the LP-2110 (Clones-Roslea Road). Diversion ends at the end of road with the junction of Church Hill (LP-2800)

Southbound traffic wishing to travel on Lower Fermanagh Street (LP-2800) shall divert onto the Roslea Road (LP-2810). After 3 km turn right on the LP-2120 (New Line) road. Travel to the end of the road and turn right on the N54 (Monaghan-Clones Road). At the traffic lights, turn right onto 98 Avenue (R183). Diversion ends at the traffic light junction of Newtownbutler Road/Fermanagh Street/98 Avenue.

Night Time Temporary Closing of Roads – N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Kilcrow (N2 Clontibret Roundabout) to the townland of Lislanly (N2 Lislanly Roundabout).

Monaghan County Council intends to close the following road in the Municipal Districts of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney, Ballybay- Clones and Monaghan in County Monaghan.

Dates of Closure:            16th October 2023 – 30th November 2023                                          

Road Closed:                   N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Kilcrow (N2 Clontibret Roundabout) to the townland of Lislanly (N2 Lislanly Roundabout).

Times:                               7pm – 6am

LS5515 – Lower Mill Street between North Road and Church Square

R867 – From Market Street to the Diamond (including Church Square)

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic coming from the North via Glaslough Street, wishing to access the Clones Road (N 54), or the Cootehill Road (R188), or the Ballybay Road (R162), may do so via Dublin Street, Macartan Road

Traffic coming from the South, via Dawson Street, wishing to access Dublin Street, may do so via North Rd (NS 54)

Taxi Rank outside of Courthouse to be temporarily relocated to the North Road alongside the DV8 premises.

Local and emergency services access will be catered for at all times.

Monaghan County Council gives notice to extend the following road closure in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

To Facilitate:     Windfarm Construction works

Roads Closed:   LT-62013 for its full length from its junction with the LS6210 & LT62013

Diversion Route:

Traffic wishing to travel from the R-189 to the L-6201 shall be diverted from the junction of the L-6210/L-62013 in the Townland of Cornawall by remaining on the L-6210, then turning left on to the L-6201.

Traffic wishing to travel from the Townland of Drumgramph to the R-189 in the Townland of Doohat shall be diverted onto the L-6201, then turning left onto the L-2232, then turning left onto the L-2290 and continuing to the R-189.

3.5T Bridge Weight Restriction Notification

Under Section 93 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 as amended and the Road Traffic Signs Regulations 1997, No. S.I. 182 of 1997 article 17, Monaghan County Council hereby gives notice of applying a 3.5T Weight Restriction at the bridge identified as MN-L3430-B-010 in the Townlands of Doohamlat, Coolmannan and Tonyscallan on the L-3430 road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan.

 

Date of commencement of the proposed Weight Restriction     

Friday, 22nd September 2023, until such time as further notification is provided and the RUS 053, 3.5T Regulatory signs are removed from the bridge location.

Temporary Closing of Roads – R927-3 at Magheross for a distance of 900m from its junction with R179-5 Kingscourt Road to its junction with LP-4800-0 Tullynaskeagh.

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

Date:                     Monday 11th September 2023 to Friday 20th October 2023

(Road may be closed for a maximum of 3 weeks within the Closure Period)

To Facilitate:      Road Improvement Works

Road Closed:

R927-3 at Magheross for a distance of 900m from its junction with R179-5 Kingscourt Road to its junction with LP-4800-0 Tullynaskeagh.

Diversion Routes:

Southbound traffic travelling from Kingscourt Road on the R179 will be diverted left onto R927 heading North along Main St and continuing to Castleblayney Road, at the Castleblayney Road roundabout traffic will be diverted right onto the Southbound lane of the N2 at the Carrickmacross North Interchange. At the junction of N2/LP4922 traffic shall be directed right onto LP4922 heading Northwest and proceed to the LP4800 Drumconrath Road junction.

Northbound traffic travelling from Drumconrath to Carrickmacross on the LP4800 shall be diverted right onto LP4921 heading Southeast, at the junction of LP4922/N2 traffic shall be diverted left onto the N2 heading Northbound, at the Carrickmacross North Interchange traffic shall be diverted left towards Carrickmacross Town Centre. At Castleblayney Road roundabout traffic shall be diverted left  onto R927 towards Main St heading south and proceed towards R179 Kingscourt Road junction.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
