Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date:    Between Monday 8^th May 2023 and Thursday 30^th November 2023

(Each Road may be closed for a maximum of 2 weeks within the Closure Period)

To Facilitate:     Road Improvement Works

Road Closed:

LT-39001 for a distance of 1000m between its junctions with the LP-3900 at Lisgorran and the R-183 at Edenaneane.

 

Diversion Routes:

Westbound traffic travelling from Edenaneane to Lisgorran will be diverted West along the R-183 towards Swann’s Cross and turn left onto the LP-3900 at Drummuck.  Traffic will continue South along the LP-3900 to the junction with the LT-39001 at Lisgorran.

Eastbound traffic travelling from Lisgorran to Edenaneane will be diverted North along the LP-3900 to the junction with the R-183 at Drummuck.  Traffic will turn right and proceed East along the R-183 towards Ballybay to the junction of the LT-39001 at Edenaneane.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the Roads Department, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Wednesday 3^rd May 2023.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

Road Closed:

LT-25022 for a distance of 1800m between its junctions with the LP-2502 at Drumgavny and the junction with the R162 at Aghnaclea.

Diversion Routes:

North Eastbound traffic travelling from Drumgavny to Aghnaclea will be diverted onto the LP-2502 and continue North until it becomes the LP-2501.  Traffic will continue along the LP-2501 before turning right onto the LT-25021 and continue to the junction of the LT-65012.  Traffic will turn right and travel south along the LT-65012 to the junction of the R162, adjacent to the junction of the LT-25022.

South Westbound traffic travelling from Aghnaclea to Drumgavny will be diverted left onto the LT-65012 and proceed North to the junction with the LT-25021.  Traffic will turn left and proceed along the LT-25021 to the junction with the LP-2501.  Traffic will turn left and continue South along the LP-2501 until it becomes the LP-2502 and continue on to the junction of the LT-64022.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

LP-4004 for a distance of 1500m between its junction with the LP-4012/4011 at Corrinenty and the junction with the LP-4003 at Ummerafree.

 

Diversion Routes:

Westbound traffic travelling from Corduff to Shantonagh on the LP-4044 will be diverted left onto the LP-4031 heading South, then traffic will turn right onto the LS-8011, and then turn right and proceed North on the LP-4012 to the junction of the LP4004.  Traffic will be diverted left onto the LP-4005 and proceed West to Shantonagh.

Eastbound traffic travelling from Shantonagh to Corduff will be diverted left onto the LP-4011 and proceed Northeast, then turn right and proceed on the LP-4042 and turn right on to the LS-8021 and proceed Southbound to the junction with the LP-4004 and turn left to proceed East to Corduff.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

To Facilitate:                     Open air festival by Tydavnet Community Centre Committee

Road Closed:                     Section of the R186 within Tydavnet Village between Cnoc na Greine and St. Dympna’s Church Car-park

Diversion Routes:

Northbound traffic will be diverted via the LP-1020 (Scotstown Road), turning Left at “McNallys Cross/Brennans Cross” and proceeding on the LP-1011 and then on the LP-1010 to “Courtneys Cross” (beside Barratitoppy old schoolhouse) and then turning right onto the LP-1001(Knockatallon Road) and proceeding onwards back onto the R186 Tydavnet Road at “American Cross/Killylough”.

Southbound traffic will be diverted via the LP-1171 (Emyvale Road) turning right at Cloghnart on to the N2 to Monaghan town.

Alternative routes will be signposted in order to direct the traffic.  Emergency vehicles will be catered for at all times.

Date and Time of Closure: Saturday 6th May 2023 (8.00am to 7.30pm)

To Facilitate: Monaghan Street Food Festival

Roads Closed:
• LS5515 – Lower Mill Street between North Road and Church Square
• R867 – From Market Street to the Diamond (including Church Square), Monaghan Town

Diversion Routes:
Traffic coming from the North via Glaslough Street, wishing to access the Clones Road (N54), or the Cootehill Road (R188), or the
Ballybay Road (R162), may do so via Dublin Street, Macartan Road

Traffic coming from the South, via Dawson Street, wishing to access Dublin Street, may do so via North Road (N54)
Taxi Rank outside of Courthouse to be temporarily relocated to the North Road alongside the DV8 premises.
Local and emergency services access will be catered for at all times.

Date of Closure: Monday 24th April 2023 to Friday 5th May 2023

To Facilitate: Road Resurfacing Works

Roads Closed:
R188: For a distance of 11000m from its junction with the R162 at Killygowan to its junction with the R183 at Swanns Cross.

Diversion Routes:
Traffic wishing to proceed northbound on the R188 at Swanns Cross may turn right in the townland of Dromore East at Swanns
Cross onto the R183 and continue eastbound along the R183, turn left onto the R162 in Ballybay and continue northbound along the
R162 then turn left at the junction of the R188 in the townland of Killygowan.

Traffic wishing to proceed southbound on the R188 at Killygowan may turn left onto the R162, continue southbound along the R162,
then turn right onto the R183 in Ballybay, continue on the R183 then turn left onto the R188 in the townland of Dromore East at Swanns Cross.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Date of Closure: Friday 28th April 2023 to Friday 12th May 2023
To Facilitate: Road Resurfacing Works

Roads Closed:
R-162: For a distance of 1600m from its junction with the R188 at
Killygowan to its junction with the LP-1500 at Tamlat.

Diversion Routes:
Traffic wishing to proceed southbound on the R162 at Killygowan towards Ballybay may continue straight ahead on the R188 to
Swanns Cross then turn left onto the R183 towards Ballybay. Traffic wishing to proceed northbound on the R162 at Tamlat may turn right onto the LP1500 at Tamlat, then turn left onto the
LP3300 at Kilnacran, take the 1st left onto the LP3300 and continue straight to the junction of the N2. Turn left onto the N2 then take the 1st exit at the Corlat roundabout onto the R937, turn left onto the LP1412 (Canal Street) then left onto the R162

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Date of Closure: Monday 15th May 2023 to Friday 9th June 2023

To Facilitate: Road Resurfacing Works

Road Closed:
R188 Rockcorry to Cootehill Road in the townlands of Monagh,Dawson Grove, Kilcrow

Diversion Routes:
Southbound Traffic divert via the R190 Ballybay/Cootehill Road in Rockcorry, turn right onto the R162 Cootehill Road. In Cootehill turn right at the crossroads onto the R188 Monaghan/Clones Road.

Northbound Traffic divert via R189 Newbliss Road. In Newbliss take the R183 Ballybay Road as far as Swanns Cross roundabout. At the Roundabout take the third exit for R188 Cootehill. All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local
Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

R-162-4 at Urbalkirk to the end of the road at Feragh.
