Road Closures & Notices

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Road Traffic Act 2004, Section 10 (1) of the Council’s intention to put in place Special Speed Limits for Road Works on the road listed below. The speed limits are being put in place in the interest of road safety to facilitate road works.

60km/h Speed limit signs will be in place at the following location:	Townlands	Start Date	End Date

Monaghan County Council gives notice to extend the following road closure in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date & Time:  From Friday 29^th July 2022 to Friday 12^th of August 2022 24hrs per day

 To Facilitate: Replacement of damaged road culvert/bridge and the legislative requirements associated with carrying out said works.  

 Roads Closed: LT62011 Lislea to Lislongfield Road

 Diversion Routes: Diversions will be via the LS6201 and the LT22311. All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic.

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date:                     Monday 29^th August 2022 to 9^th September 2022

To Facilitate:      Road Resurfacing Works

Roads Closed:    R189 in the Townlands of Corramegan, Garran, Glasdrummond and Lecklevera

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to proceed on the R189 from the N54 will be diverted along the N54 and then left onto the R183

Traffic wishing to proceed on the R189 from Newbliss will be diverted along the R183 then turn right onto the N54

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the Roads Department, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 2^nd August 2022.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

To Facilitate: Road Resurfacing Works

Roads Closed: R 183 at Annalore Bridge in the Townlands of Annaghkilly, Killygoonagh and Killevan Glebe.

 

Alternative Routes.

Traffic wishing to proceed on the R183 from Newbliss will be diverted along the R189 and then Left onto the N54

Traffic wishing to proceed on the R183 from Clones will be diverted along the N54 then turn Right onto the R189

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

To Facilitate:      Road Resurfacing Works

Roads Closed:   LT-81011 in the Townlands of Cullentraghduff, Beagh, Brackly, Monalia and Rathmore

 Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to proceed on the LT-81011 from the LS-8101 will be diverted onto the LS-8101, then straight onto the LS-8100, then right onto the N2-2, then right onto the LS-8152 and then right onto the LT-81521.

Traffic wishing to proceed on the LT-81011 from the LT-81521/LS-8152 will be diverted left/straight onto the LS-8152, then left onto the N2-2, then turn left onto the LS-8100 and then straight onto the LS-8101.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Times:                                24 hour closure

 To Facilitate:                    Bridge Rehabilitation Works.

 Roads Closed:                    L-4043 in the Townlands of Shantonagh/Tooa Co. Monaghan

 

Division Routes: –

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-4043 from Shantonagh village in the direction of Bocks Lower will be diverted by remaining on the R-181-8 at the Tullynamalra crossroads, then turning left onto the L-4005, then continuing along the L-4005, then turning left on to the L-4011, then turning right on to the L-4042.

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-4043 from Bocks Lower in the direction of Shantonagh village will be diverted by turning left off the L-4042 onto the L-4011, then turning right onto the L-4005, then continuing along the L-4005, then turning right on to the R-181-8.

All Detours will be signposted to direct the Traffic. (L-4043 Local Access only, no through road at the Bridge Works).

Any interested person may lodge an objection to closing the above-mentioned road with the A/Senior Engineer of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan, not later than Tuesday 2^nd of August 2022. Any objections must be clearly marked on the envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

Road Closed:

N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Kilcrow (N2 Clontibret Roundabout) to the townland of Tullyvin (N2  Tullyvin Roundabout).

Times:                                  9pm – 6am 

To Facilitate:                      Road Re-Surfacing

Traffic wishing to proceed on the R212 from Clones will be diverted along the R183 then turn right onto the R189, then right onto the LP 2222/ LP2221/ LP2220

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Traffic wishing to proceed on the LS – 5171 from the R186 will be diverted along the R186, turn left onto the LP 1171, then left onto the LP 1154.

Traffic wishing to proceed on the LS – 5171 from the Tonycoogan crossroads will be diverted along the LP 1154, then turn right onto the LP 1171 and turn right onto the R186.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
