Proposed Variation No. 4 to the Monaghan County Development Plan 2019-2025

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that Monaghan County Council proposes to make a variation (Variation No. 4) to the Monaghan County Development Plan 2019-2025.

The proposed variation incorporates the Roosky Lands Master Plan. The purpose of the Plan is to provide guidance on the regeneration options for the future development of the Roosky Lands Master Plan area. A variation to the Development Plan is required to give statutory basis to the Master Plan. The proposed variation includes a new objective within the Settlement Plan for Monaghan Town within the Monaghan County Development Plan 2019-2025,

Objective MPO 16 to, ‘Ensure that all development proposals within the Roosky Lands Master Plan area have regard to the master plan strategy and development objectives of the Roosky Lands Master Plan.’

Reason. To provide a vision for a place making approach that makes use of this sustainable town centre area to create a desirable and convenient place to live, work and thrive in a that has considerable development potential.

A copy of the proposed variation is also available for inspection until 5pm on 11 February 2022 at the Planning Offices of Monaghan County Council, 1 Dublin Street, Monaghan H18 X982 during opening hours from 9.15am – 5pm (lunch time closing 1:00 – 1:30 p.m.).

Written submissions or observations with respect to the proposed variation made to the Planning Authority before 5pm on 11 February 2022 will be taken into consideration before the making of the variation.
