Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

Date:                     Monday 20th March 2023 to Friday 21st April 2023

To Facilitate:      Essential upgrade works to the Waste Water network  

Roads Closed:   LT-47013 in the Townland of Annacroff

 

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to proceed onto the LT-47013 from the R178-7 Carrickmacross-Dundalk Road will be diverted onto the R178-7 Carrickmacross-Dundalk Road, right onto the LT-47012.

Traffic wishing to proceed onto the LT-47013 from the LT-47012 will be diverted onto the LT-47012, left onto the R178-7 Carrickmacross-Dundalk Road. 

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

To Facilitate:      Resurfacing of the R938-0, Lower York Street, Castleblayney  

Roads Closed:   LT-47013 in the Townland of Annacroff

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to proceed onto the R938-0 Lower York Street from the R181-3 Main Street will be diverted onto the R181-4 Castleblayney-Shercock Road, right onto the N2, left onto the N53 at Tullyvin Roundabout.

Traffic wishing to proceed onto the R938-0 Lower York Street from the R938-0 Upper York Street will be diverted onto the LT-75066 Thomas Street, left onto the LT-75065 Henry Street.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Temporary Closing of Roads – Emergency Closure

Monaghan County Council hereby gives notice of Emergency Closure in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994 that it will close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

 

Date & Time:              Friday 17th February 2023 until further notice

To Facilitate:              Structural Repair works to the Mullyera Bridge on the LT20201 in the Townland of Tirnaskea South. 

Roads Closed:             LT-20201, Graffagh-Mullyera Road between LP-2020 (Corrinshigo-Drunslavog Road) and LS-6021 (Kibberidog-Killydonnelly Road).

 

Diversion Routes:      

Traffic wishing to proceed Eastbound on the LT-20201 may turn left in the townland of Graffagh onto the LP-2020 and continue southbound along the LP-2020 and then turn left at Sweeney’s cross on the R187 and continue eastbound along the R187 then turn left at Killydonnelly and continue northbound, then left onto the LT-20201.

Traffic wishing to proceed Westbound on the LT-20201 may turn right in the townland Mullyera onto the LS-6021 and continue southbound along the LS-6021, then turn right onto the R187 and continue westbound and at Sweeney’s cross on the R187 turn right on the LP-2020 and continue northbound then turn right onto the LT-20201.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Important Notice to all Landowners and Occupiers of Land in relation to Hedge cutting

 

Monaghan County Council would like to remind all landowners and occupiers that Section 40 of the Wildlife Act 1976, as amended by Section 46 of the 2000 Amendment Act, prohibits the cutting, grubbing, burning or destruction of vegetation, with certain strict exemptions, from 1 March to 31 August.

There is provision in the legislation for some restricted exemptions from the prohibition during the closed period – e.g. for works undertaken in the ordinary course of agriculture or forestry, for public health and safety reasons, including road safety, the destruction of noxious weeds, for the clearance of vegetation in the course of road and other development works or the development of sites for building works.

Temporary Closing of Roads – to facilitate the Monaghan Town St. Patricks Day Parade

In order to facilitate the Monaghan Town St. Patricks Day Parade, Monaghan County Council in the Municipal District of Monaghan hereby gives notice of its intention to close the following roads:

Roads Closed

R867 – Church Square/The Diamond, Monaghan – from Rossmore Monument to Church Square

LS5515 – Lower Mill Street (From 12.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. on Friday 17th March 2023)

Alternative Routes

Diversions from Emyvale to Ballybay, Clones, Cootehill will be via the N2 bypass to the Dublin Road and R937 Macartan Road

Local access to the town centre and the Courthouse car park will be via Glaslough Street, Macartan Road and Castle Road.

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the proposed closure in writing to the A/Head of Roads & Transportation, Monaghan Co. Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Wednesday 1st March 2023. Objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection to Road Closure”.

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following roads in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

To Facilitate:                     Bridge Rehabilitation Works.

Roads Closed:                    L-7730 & L-77401 in the Townlands of Tullyvanus, Tullintlisny,

Skeerymore and Lurganearly Co. Monaghan

 

Division Route: 

Southbound traffic wishing to travel on the L-7730 from the R-182 in the direction of the townland Skerrymore will be diverted by remaining on the R-182, then turning left onto the L-37113,  then turning left onto the L-37112 to the county border, then turning left onto Mullaghduff road. Alternatively, northbound traffic wishing to travel on the L-77401 from the R-182 in the direction of Skeerymore will be diverted by remaining on the R182 to the county border, then turning right onto Mullaghduff road, then turning right onto the L-7730 in the townland of Skerrymore.

Southbound traffic wishing to travel from Mullaghduff road to the R182 via the L-7730/L-77401 will be diverted by remaining on Mullaghaduff road, then turning right onto the L-37112, then turning right onto the L-37113 and continuing to the R-182. Alternatively, northbound traffic will be diverted by remaining on Mullaghduff road travelling north towards the R-182, and then turning left onto the R-182.

All Detours will be signposted to direct the traffic. (L-7730/L-77401 Local Access only, no through road at the Bridge Works at the L-7730/L-77401 junction ).

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

To Facilitate:       Reservoir upgrade works

Roads Closed:     LS-8400 in the Townland of Toome

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to proceed Northbound past the Reservoir will be diverted back on the LS-8400, Left on the LP-4410 and Left on the LS-8400.

Traffic wishing to proceed Southbound past the Reservoir will be diverted back on the LS-8400, Right on the LP-4410 and Right on the LP-8400.

Roads Closed in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney;

Carrickmacross from the Dundalk Rd Roundabout to the junction of the Dundalk / Donaghmoyne Roads at the entrance to the Stedfast Industrial Complex, through Farney Street, onto Main Street as far as Monaghan Street.

Local diversions will be in place
