Cycling training to students in the Secondary schools

The Active Travel Unit in partnership with local training provider Bike Green commenced a roll out of cycling training to students in the Secondary schools in the County between Halloween and Christmas. Below some of the students who have completed the training.

Art Competition

As part of activities planned in the county to promote mobility week and the benefits of Active Travel, local primary schools were encouraged to invite students to submit entries to their recent Art Competition.
The competition was run in partnership with the Library service, the road safety awareness officer and the Active Travel Unit in the County Council. We had a great response from all over the County, with over 240 entries received which made it a very difficult decision for the judging panel! Below is just a small selection of the winners receiving their prizes last week. A big thank you to all the schools and children who took part in the competition. Check out the Northern Standard this week for a full listing of all the winners!
