Monaghan County Council is establishing a PEACEPLUS Partnership Board for the PEACEPLUS Programme 2022-2027. The PEACEPLUS Partnership will oversee the design and implementation of a co-designed PEACEPLUS Action Plan for our area.
The new programme will provide scope to incorporate projects which span a range of different sectors and activities including health and wellbeing initiatives; children and young people; community regeneration including redevelopment and re-imaging of existing community facilities for shared usage; initiatives to build positive relations; social innovation; social enterprise; and education and skills and community education. All supported projects should be designed to address issues of racism and sectarianism, increase social inclusion, and promote civil leadership.
We are seeking nominations for social partners from the PPN for its new PEACEPLUS Partnership board. The Monaghan LCDC PEACEPLUS Partnership will comprise 16 representatives from four categories including 4 nominated Elected Members; 4 nominated public sector representatives; 4 social partners representing the different geographies of our area (e.g., our 3 Municipal Districts); and 4 social partners representing target groups.
Nominations are now welcomed for social partners through the PPN. We are seeking nominations from community representatives, including volunteers, from PPN Member Organisations within our council area and who could represent our Municipal Districts (MDs) and PEACEPLUS Target groups.
The role is a voluntary, unpaid role that will require a time commitment of approximately 8 meetings per annum c.2 hours per meeting. Travel expenses will be paid where required. Training will be supplied for all partnership members in all aspects of the programme.
