What to read over Christmas?

Our stock of Christmas books are flying out the door, but there are a few still on our shelf.

Santa’ Sleigh on its way to Cavan and Monaghan, Written by Eric James and illustrated by Robert Dunn

This magical story follows Santa’s journey through Cavan and Monaghan on his way to deliver gifts to the children. Describing the children’s preparations for Christmas eve, one little boy forgets to leave out some mince pies for Santa but unbeknownst to him Santa is already in his House!  Along with Monaghan, specific places mentioned in the story are Scotstown, Clones, Newbliss, Glaslough, Milltown and Castleblayney. Sure to delight readers as they recognise the names.

 

A Christmas Carol by Charles dickens

A classic tale and one of Charles dickens best loved Christmas stories. Ebenezer Scrooge is a selfish, mean old miser who hates Christmas. He is visited on Christmas eve by three ghosts who show him the error of his ways and what will happen if he dos does not change his ways. there are four different versions of this book ready to take home for all ages
