Road Works Speed Limit Order

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Road Traffic Act 2004 Section 10 (1) of the Council’s intention to put in place Special Speed Limits for Road Works on the roads listed below in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney. The speed limits are being put in place in the interest of road safety to facilitate roadworks.                     

50km/h speed limit signs will be in place at the following locations in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney Townland Name Start Date End Date

Public Consultation Event – BALLYBAY TO CASTLEBLAYNYEY (B2C) GREENWAY – ROUTE OPTIONS CONSULTATION

The Study Area for the Ballybay to Castleblayney Greenway has now been completed and a number of Route Options have been developed.  Public Consultation events will be held over the coming weeks for communities along the proposed route.  Landowners, local communities, and the general public are invited to review the Study Area and to discuss with the project team.  The drop-in sessions will be held in;

The Doohamlet Community Centre, Thursday, 14th of September from 4:00pm to 7:00pm

Temporary Closing of Roads – LP-4004 for a distance of 1500m between its junction with the LP-4012/4011 at Corrinenty and the junction with the LP-4003 at Ummerafree.

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date:    Between Monday 8th May 2023 and Thursday 30th November 2023

(Each Road may be closed for a maximum of 2 weeks within the Closure Period)

To Facilitate:     Road Improvement Works

Road Closed:

LP-4004 for a distance of 1500m between its junction with the LP-4012/4011 at Corrinenty and the junction with the LP-4003 at Ummerafree.

Diversion Routes:

Westbound traffic travelling from Corduff to Shantonagh on the LP-4044 will be diverted left onto the LP-4031 heading South, then traffic will turn right onto the LS-8011, and then turn right and proceed North on the LP-4012 to the junction of the LP4004.  Traffic will be diverted left onto the LP-4005 and proceed West to Shantonagh.

Eastbound traffic travelling from Shantonagh to Corduff will be diverted left onto the LP-4011 and proceed Northeast, then turn right and proceed on the LP-4042 and turn right on to the LS-8021 and proceed Southbound to the junction with the LP-4004 and turn left to proceed East to Corduff.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Temporary Closing of Roads – Emergency Closure – LS 6201 (Tullyard Road)

Monaghan County Council hereby gives notice of Emergency Closure in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994 that it will close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

 

Date & Time: 4th April 2023 @ 8.00am to 7th April 2023 @ 5.00pm 

To Facilitate:   Road Resurfacing works 

Road Closed:   LS 6201 (Tullyard Road)

 

Diversion Routes:

Northbound – Via LP 2232/2263 (Tattincak/Dunnaluck), then LP 2290 (Rossnaglough West) and then R 189-7 (Newbliss/Cootehill Road)

Southbound – Via R 189-7 (Newbliss/Cootehill), then LP 2290 (Rossnaglough West) and then Road) LP 2232/2263 (Tattincak/Dunnaluck)

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Temporary Closing Of Roads – Roads Closed:  LS-8400 in the Townland of Toome

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

Date:                  Monday 20th February 2023 to Friday 24th February 2023

To Facilitate:     Reservoir upgrade works

Roads Closed:   LS-8400 in the Townland of Toome

 

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to proceed Northbound past the Reservoir will be diverted back on the LS-8400, Left on the LP-4410 and Left on the LS-8400.

Traffic wishing to proceed Southbound past the Reservoir will be diverted back on the LS-8400, Right on the LP-4410 and Right on the LP-8400.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

 

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the Roads Department, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Wednesday 8th February 2023.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

3.5t Bridge Weight Restriction Notification

Under Section 93 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 as amended and the Road Traffic Signs Regulations 1997, No. S.I. 182 of 1997 article
17, Monaghan County Council hereby gives notice of applying a 3.5t Weight Restriction at the bridge identified as MN-L2340-
B-010 in the Townlands of Lisdarragh and Teer on the L-2340 road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County
Monaghan.

Date of commencement of the proposed Weight Restriction: Thursday, 3rd of November 2022, until such time as further notification is provided and the RUS 053, 3.5t Regulatory signs are removed from the bridge location.

Bridge Location: L-2340-0 in the Townlands of Lisdarragh and Teer Co. Monaghan
