Amendments
Following consideration of submissions made in respect of the Draft County Development Plan, the elected members made a number of amendments to the Draft Plan. Some of these amendments were considered to be material alterations and thus the amendments were placed on public display for inspection from 3rd January for a period of four weeks, with submissions invited up to 5pm on 31st January 2013.
The amendments and associated Strategic Environmental Assessment / Appropriate Assessment documentation is set out below.
Strategic Environmental Assessment – Environmental Report
An environmental assessment was carried out during the review of the existing Monaghan County Development Plan 2007-2013 (incorporating the Development Plans for the Towns of Monaghan, Carrickmacross, Castleblayney, Clones and Ballybay) and during the preparation of the Monaghan County Development Plan (incorporating the Development Plans for the Towns of Monaghan, Carrickmacross, Castleblayney, Clones and Ballybay) for the period 2013-2019 on the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing the new plans. An Environmental Report was prepared in respect of this assessment.
Monaghan County Council and the Town Councils of Monaghan, Carrickmacross, Castleblayney, and Clones, having considered the Environment Report and the Manager’s Reports in respect of submissions received in relation to it, have resolved to make a number of amendments to the Environmental Report and include them as an addendum. Strategic Environmental Assessment / Appropriate Assessment of Amendments
The planning authority has determined that neither a strategic environmental assessment, nor appropriate assessment are required in respect of the amendments.
